UARA-STARS Headed to Dillon for the Seneca 150

The Southern Touring Asphalt Racing Series (STARS) are heading south to

Dillon Saturday July 14th.  This will be their first appearance at the newly refurbished speedway located north of Myrtle Beach.  The teams and UARA-STARS staff are excited to get the action going for the Seneca 150.  Bobby June of Seneca said, “We are glad to come on board as a sponsor of the UARA-STARS event”.

The question on everyone’s mind is: Who will be winner number 8?  The UARA-STARS have many very accomplished drivers that still have not bagged their first win for 2007.

Former champion Lee Tissot who has 6 UARA-STARS wins to his credit in previous seasons and several top five finishes in 2007 has not caught that elusive checker.  Ross Furr and Lucas Ransone are giving it their all to capture their first career win.  They both have landed the runner up position but strive weekly to get that top place.

Previous 2007 winners that run on a regular basis with the UARA-STARS Dennis Queen, Matt DiBenedetto, B.J. Mackey, Roger Lee Newton, Jake Crum and Alex Yontz are wanting to be the first repeat winner for this season.

Could another Melling Select Rookie pull off a win?  Daniel Pope II, Matt Leicht, Casey Holt, Mikey Kile and Ryan Salomon have their dreams set on that goal.  These young talents have been showing steady improvement from the season’s onset.

Nothing would please them more than to be the second rookie to win for 2007 following in the footsteps of fellow rookie Matt DiBenedetto who took the checker at Concord.

Qualifying has been super competitive.  With many regular drivers following the tour and several locals coming on for the event it’s any body’s show.  The action doesn’t stop at the front of the pact.  Fans can look at any area of the track and see some serious rubbing going on and challenges for positions.

Running in conjunction with the UARA-STARS will be the Super Trucks. This promises to be a full night of fantastic racing sure to thrill all the fans.

Grandstand gates open at 4 p.m. admission will be $15 for adults, $13 Military and Seniors, $6 for 8-12 year olds and children under 7 free with paying adult.
