The night started out with Kyle Grissom on the
Sunoco Pole after a great run last week at Hickory.
When the green flag dropped KLB Race Cars outside
pole sitter Matt McCall who has been on a winning
streak took command with Grissom right in his
tracks. Jamey Caudill was hot on the two leaders.
Lap 11 sees the first caution of the night with the
cars of Brandon McReynolds, Garrett Campbell and
Brian Curry tangling in turn 4. McReynolds pits for
a quick check and Curry goes to the assistance of
his pit crew with a fender dragging.
The field retakes the green from flagman Danny
Willard on lap 16 with McCall on the point. Grissom,
Caudill, Campbell and Matthew Godley in pursuit.
Young John King II returning after a few weeks off
spins in turn four bringing out the caution. John
gathered it up and continued with no damage. This
caution on lap 29 was also not good for JR
Motorsports teammates Richard Boswell II and Owen
Kelly as they hit pit road. Kelly continues but the
racing monkey bites Boswell once again. Boswell is
through for the night with rear end problems. UARA
official’s red flag the event not wanting to run a
lot of caution laps to check for any fluids Boswell
dropped. Boswell will receive the ARP Hard Luck
Award for the night.

By mid race the cars of Chris Lawson and Coleman
Pressley looked to be headed to the front. Lawson
who was making one of his occasional UARA starts
fell back after qualifying 5th but by lap 30 had
moved into fourth. Pressley who had a tough
qualifying lap started in the rear after making some
repairs had worked his way up to 8th. Pressley would
bring home the G-Force Shift of the Race Awards for
his good run.
The field settles in for some great green flag
racing. Lap 69 has some serious side by side racing.
Lee Tissot making an appearance in the Austin Green
- Mitch West entry is racing Garrett Campbell for
5th position. Jamie Yelton coming out of retirement
was racing Pressley for 7th
Lap 90 saw McCall still showing the way over
Grissom, Caudill, Lawson, and Tissot.
Lawson had moved into second by lap 120 and Grissom
falls back to 3rd. Brian Curry spins in turn 2
gathers it up and heads to the pits calling it quits
for the night.

As the old saying goes cautions breed cautions.
Kelly and Paddy Rodenbeck get together in turn
three. Rodenbeck shows his displeasure on the front
stretch. Race director Ronnie Rice delivered the
message to Rodenbeck via radio communication to
settle down.
The green comes out for the final time on lap 134
with Lawson hot on the heels of McCall. By lap 139
Lawson was putting some real pressure on McCall with
Grissom and Caudill in tow.
Lap 143 shows a new leader for the first time
tonight with Lawson taking the spot from McCall.
That would only last for two laps as McCall regains
the lead to never to look back.

Lawson has a great run finishing second followed by
Grissom, Caudill, Tissot, Campbell,
Pressley, Yelton, McReynolds and Kelly rounding out
the top ten.
Campbell will be awarded the B Square Janitorial
Clean Sweep award for being the highest finisher
that also started in the positon he started in. The
UARA Rookie of the Race is once again Michael Rouse
who has been collecting several of these awards in
the last few events.
Long Brothers were awarded the Comp Cams Engine
Builder of the Race award.
The UARA Stars will take a couple of weeks off from
racing and will be resume at ACE Speedway on August
5.
