UARA-STARS HEADING TO ACE FOR BIG SHOW
UARA point leader Matt McCall is on a roll with four
UARA wins, four Sunoco poles and three KLB Race Cars
& Parts outside poles in 2009. This give McCall a
UARA career ten wins and eleven Sunoco poles. He is
bested by one man and that man is Jamey Caudill with
a record twelve wins and sixteen Sunoco Poles to his
credit. Caudill is also the second place point
contender at this time. Caudill would like nothing
better than to expand on his record and end the
winning streak that McCall has been on.
The field is set with many other very talented
drivers that want to crush McCalls winning streak as
well. Former champ and last year’s Ace winner Jason
York for one.
Alex Yontz who also has an impressive UARA stat
record of four poles and seven wins is returning to
the UARA-STARS after taking time off to run close to
home. Yontz has always proved to be a serious
contender.
Early entries also include Brandon McReynolds, Kyle
Grissom, former UARA champion Lee Tissot, Scott
Turlington, Coleman Pressley, Paddy Rodenbeck, Owen
Kelly, Randy Hawkins, Rodney Cook.
Richard Boswell II, Robert Turner and Bobby Griffin
to name a few.
2008 Rookie of the Year Darrell Wallace, Jr is
returning to UARA action at Ace as well to put the
pressure on his fellow STARS competitors. 2009
Rookie contenders Matthew Godley, Brennan Poole,
Michael Rouse, John King II and Dylan Presnell to
name a few will also be there to put the pressure on
the veterans. These young men show race after race
just how serious they can be. Poole, Godley, King &
Presnell have all been rookie of the race once this
year and Michael Rouse has received that award three
times. It is Godley who is leading the rookie points
at this time having had a season best finish of 3rd
at Concord earlier in the season.
The UARA is having a fan party at Hooter’s exit 141
Thursday, August 6, 2009 beginning around 5 p.m.
Turlington, McCall, York, Turner and Cook will be
displaying their cars at Hooter’s for the pre-race

Matt McCall Pads His UARA Point
Lead Heading to Ace

Matt McCall is the only driver to win four UARA
races this season and by doing so is padding his
point lead over second place contender Jamey Caudill
by 67 points. Rounding out the top five in points
behind McCall and Caudill are Paddy Rodenbeck,
Coleman Pressley and Owen Kelly.
With the season cresting the halfway point and
heading down to the final seven events it is still
any mans show. McCall thinks otherwise. He has been
on a tear in the UARA this year and proved his
ability at the Dwight Huffman Memorial race on the
UARA’s off weekend as well. Rodenbeck also had a
bright star shining at the Huffman Memorial.
The UARA 2009 race winners to date are McCall (4),
Rodenbeck (2), Brandon McReynolds (1), Caudill (1)
and Corey LaJoie (1).
2004 UARA Champion Jason York will be heading to Ace
to show his muscle and give the 2009 regular UARA
contenders a run for the money. York made his
appearance at Ace for the 2008 UARA event there and
took home the trophy. It is his intention to do that
same thing again next week on August 7, 2009.
Dale Earnhardt, Jr. has two cars in the field.
Richard Boswell II who has had an up and down season
so far in 2009 hopes to make better on his 2008 run
by overtaking York for the checker. Boswell ran an
awesome race at Ace in 2008 bringing home a second
place finish.
Boswell’s team mate Owen Kelly is holding his own
with the UARA for 2009 and is tied for fourth place
in points with young Coleman Pressley. Pressley is
the son of NASCAR standout Robert Pressley.
Another force to reckon with is sixth place point
contender Garrett Campbell who has had some awesome
runs this season. Campbell has shown he has power
under him and knows how to apply it.
