For Immediate Release

UARA Down to Final Two 2009 Events:
CONCORD & KINGSPORT

The UARA-STARS are winding down their season in style with back to back races coming up.
The Concord race on Halloween will be having a Trick or Treat the driver session along with a costume contest for the children.

Matt McCall and Jamey Caudill are in serious battle for the championship followed by Brandon McReynolds, Garrett Campbell, Coleman Pressley, Paddy Rodenbeck, Kyle Grissom, Brennan Poole, Scott Turlington and Michael Rouse rounding out the top ten.

When the STARS were at Concord in March it was Rodenbeck who took the checker. McCall finished second and Caudill came home fifth in the March race. McCall and Caudill are very talented drivers and they will be racing with every ounce of their power to get the win. Neither of the championship contenders have a UARA win at Concord and both would like to change that statistic.

Several non-regular UARA drivers have pre-entered for the Concord race. Just to name a few are Deborah Renshaw-Parker, Brian Conforth and Ryan Robertson. Robertson will be driving the Make A Wish car. These drivers will give the regular UARA STARS drivers a run for the money. Young Clint King will be making his first start with the UARA.

Concord Grandstand gates open: 5 p.m.
Qualifying 5:30 p.m.
Trick or Treat Autograph Session: 6:15 p.m.
Racing Action begins: 7:30 p.m.

Following Concord will be the much talked about and anticipated season finale at Kingsport Speedway. The Courtesy Chevrolet, Anytime Fitness 150 will be a UARA super event as always. This will be a boost to the economy in the Kingsport area as the track has been closed since 2002. Kerry Bodenhamer, UARA President and Sam Watts, KLB Races and Parts salesman have been to the speedway several times recently to help in the preparation of the rebirth of the speedway. PIP Printing of Johnson City TN has been very helpful with getting the word around town that a race is on the way.

Some UARA teams were at the speedway last Saturday October 24th testing the grounds and were pleased with what they saw there and the good condition the track is in.

Running along with the STARS at Kingsport will be the Street Stock and the Four Cylinder divisions. Rules for these divisions will be basically the same as Lonesome Pine and Newport.
More info on these specifications is available on the UARA website.
